GEOTHNK: Semantic pathways for building a spatially-thinking society. KA3 Multilateral projects, The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), 2013-2015.
GEOTHNK brought together many different organisations with high quality and unique expertise in their field who decided to join forces in a European effort to propose a scientifically grounded, technologically sustainable and organisationally disruptive framework to meet the challenge for the development of new learning pathways across traditional education sectors and informal learning situations making effective use of open educational practices and resources.
GI-N2K: Geographic Information: Need to Know: towards a more demand-driven geospatial workforce education/training system. Erasmus Multilateral Project, Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP), The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), 2013-2016.
Geographic Information Science & Technology (GI S&T) has gained importance over the past years. The challenge is to better align GI S&T curricula at the academic level and in vocational training offers, with the needs of the GI job market. GI-N2K analyzed the current market demands with regard to the knowledge and skills and compared them with the current training offer in the GI S&T sector. The new European GI S&T Body of Knowledge followed an ontological approach (re-)defining knowledge areas, units and topics, linked to key concepts in the field. (2013-2016)
